SOLUTION

The Solution

  1. The use of a long key allows the previously conspicuous cylinder to be set deeper into the front panel, minimising its impact on the design.
  2. Because the key is cylinder-shaped, the hole that needs to be drilled into the front panel can be made smaller. The key can be inserted at any angle, allowing for stress-free opening and closing.

Opting to place the cylinder at the back of the front panel

Keys are indispensable for store display cases, but with a typical surface-mounted cylinder lock, the cylinder part is exposed on the front of the drawer, as shown in the picture, which makes it conspicuous.

This problem can be solved by selecting the right cylinder lock and adjusting its position relative to the front panel.
The drawer is locked and unlocked by inserting the key into the small hole drilled into the wooden front panel.

To make the cylinder invisible, it is best to place it at the back of the front panel, but a typical flat key requires a larger hole to be drilled into that panel.

Also, since flat keys have a specific insertion direction, placing the cylinder too far back into the front panel will make it more difficult to insert the key correctly.

These problems can be solved with cylinder keys.
The 7110 model surface-mounted cylinder lock with cylinder-shaped key can be locked and unlocked by inserting the key at any angle through 360°, making it easy to insert the key even if the cylinder is placed at the back of the front panel.
This will prevent the stress of inserting the key incorrectly and potentially breaking it, as well as the need to reinsert the key, avoiding delays for customers wanting to view the goods on display.

Long key to solve the problem of keys not reaching the lock due to the width of the front panel

A cylinder lock can be locked and unlocked by inserting the key all the way in and turning it, but if the lock is placed too far back into the front panel, the key cannot be inserted all the way in.
The 7110 model surface-mounted cylinder lock with a cylinder-shaped key includes both a long key and a regular-length key, eliminating the need to place a special order for the long key.

The 7110 model surface-mounted cylinder lock with a cylinder-shaped key includes both a long key and a regular-length key, eliminating the need to place a special order for the long key. From a practical perspective, the long cylinder-shaped key, which can be inserted at any angle through 360°, contributes to stress-free customer service.
