The Solution
- The back-mount type allows for installation in places where installation was previously impossible
- Smaller than typical gas springs, to take up less space inside the housing
- Equipped with a power assist mechanism to handle heavy lids. Allows lids to be lifted easily with one hand
The Power Assist Stay S-AT02W was introduced to our customer for their device as a solution to address the challenges of "not being able to attach stays or gas springs to the sides of the machine" and "the heavy top lid creating a burden when lifting."
The S-AT02W can be mounted on the back, making it suitable for locations where installation to the side of device is difficult. Additionally, the power-assist mechanism provides a smooth, effortless feel when lifting the lid.

Also, by using the "Selection Tool", it was possible to smoothly calculate the lid's torque and select a product to match the weight of the lid.
Selection Tool is designed for selecting "Motion Design Tech" products.
Torque hinges and power assist stays, which are typically difficult to select and calculate, can be easily selected by inputting specific requirements. The tool provides a simulation of torque, operational force and so on via an easy-to-understand graph display.
The hinges and stays are invisible when the lid is closed, which gives a clean impression.

The S-AT Power Assist Stay series can be used for a wide range of applications, including on equipment and machinery with heavy lids.
